I'm the 2nd owner, and got it locally through an Alembic dealer and friend here in Denver

Gold plated hardware, Ron Wickersham signature under the truss cover, and a unique Ebony veneer on the headstock. It was made with the lightest Mahogany body they could find. Neck through with nickel (I think) side dots, easy to see; a classy bass. Get a piece of Alembic history for a great price; this is an $11,000 custom build.

Mica at Alembic:
"This Custom Spoiler bass has our Signature electronics. Signature electronics let you control the tone of each pickup separately with individual low-pass filters and Q-switches.
The body on this bass is painted solid black but the neck is left clear. This was so we could do a satin rub out on the neck - if we sanded over the black finish it would look chalky. Ew. Plus this way you get to enjoy the visual of the Mahogany and Purpleheart neck.
To get the black peghead we didn’t use paint - those are Ebony veneers. Masking and painting is an option, but the line could never get as sharp as with the veneers. "

Wow, that's some kinda rad bass. That will make someone very happy. Black is so rare for an Alembic. Gorgeous.

Had a chance to pick up a nice spoiler once for $1300 (an absolute steal). That was about 4 years ago. Tell you what my behind is tired from me kicking myself for so long.
