Many of you have likely seen this bass before. Xhawk5 had it before deciding to use it in trade to aquire one of our basses.
It's now back on the blocks. The original ad is attached below with a link to recent photos. It's in excellent condition given its age. There is nearly no fretwear and with it being 21 years old, the vintage tone and smell of older wood has begun to set in on this one.
For those of you that are familiar with the aged basses (in particular the Music Man line) you know exactly what I mean by the appearance of a more rounded warm tone coming through the instrument. It's a beautiful thing.
In the meantime let me also add a couple of other points not posted in the original ad.
1. The bass was made in May of 1998 and came off the floor as a transparant red stain. It was obviously refinished to natural and was clearly done by a professional. Though it looks great, it's not a factory original finish.
2. Second, there are a couple of very small insignificant tiny tick dings but nothing through the finish. It's not pristine in the manner that I would lable. But it is far and away in much better shape than other similarily aged basses. It has not seen nearly as much road wear given it's age and it is immaculate.
3. Don't be turned off by the thumbrest on the pickguard. I'll be including an additional brand new black guard without the thumbrest holes.
I'm leaving this one at 1,000.00 shipped to anywhere in the US with the OEM case. However we'll be adding the extra pick guard (sans thumbrest holes) and what the heck... A new 10-foot Reverb cord will be put in the case as well.
Steal of a deal.....
