What's with the (fake?) knobs that look like they're in jail?

Are they 'nuke' and 'self destruct' buttons or something that you need 2 keys for??

Lol those are the tubes poking out from the body of the pedal, under a protective cage.

That's a couple of 12ax7 tubes. It's actually a pretty cool pedal.

Yeah it's great. I've used these for a long time. I have two of them and am in the process of downsizing.

Have you had experience with it? Some people report it's a fine pedal that due to its preamp fattens up the tone of your bass à la vintage style and also works as compressor. Others report it's a noisy piece of gear.
