2002 Lakland Skyline 55-60 Joe Osborn 5 string with a gorgeous classic 3 tone sunburst and tort pickguard. This is one of the early models built in Korea before Lakland moved their Skyline series to Indonesia, and has the Lindy Fralin single coils which sound fantastic.
I switched out the original 500k pots for 250k ones as I was looking for a bit more "classic" jazz tone with a bit more warmth. The original pot values lent the bass a much more cutting, biting tone which sounded great for "hard rock with a pick tone" but was a bit abrasive to my ears for slap or fingerstyle. I will include the original pots in the sale which can easily be reinstalled if one wishes.
The only other mod. I did was to remove the gloss finish from the back of the neck and replace it with an oil hand rubbed finish, it's just my preference for necks as I can't stand the grabby feel of high gloss necks.
A great sounding and playing bass, strung with Rotosound stainless steels and includes a tweed hardshell case. Some dings and scratches here and there (see pics) but overall in great condition for the age and touring this bass has been through.
Only reason I'm selling is I've found I prefer 34" scale basses and this is a 35", and I have two other jazz style 5's anyway.
Also note that the case locks snap but sometimes pop open, they were like that when I got the case...looks like maybe they were forced open at some point. I will ensure case is secure and enveloped with heavy cardboard for shipping.
Price is $1100 cdn which works out to about $834.00 American. Shipping costs extra and will be determined at point of sale. Weight is about 9lbs.
