Hello Talkbass!
Well after MUCH debate and the tug o war between my mind and heart I've decided to sell my Beautiful Spector Rebop MM 4. It has been modified from a basic MM Rebop into a MM jazz with Nordstrand pick ups and SNC 3 band HAZ clone preamp. Also comes with a new Spector gigbag...

SO.........

Up for your consideration is my very beautiful Spector ReBop MM that has been beautifully modified into a MM / Jazz with absolutely NO ADDED GMO'S!!!

I really thought that this bass would work for me but after playing it for a period of time I find that it's just not me. I mean it's a beauty without a single doubt, it just "feels like" it doesn't fit... <---- hard to explain I guess :(

I've always played jazz style basses and this is my first Spector I've played.
I purchased it because it was "different" and it is in a great way.
But I'm more of a jazz bass player.
It has NEVER been "gigged" simply because I am not a gigging musician.

This Spector Rebop MM bass IS A REAL BEAUTY. It is in excellent to mint 9+/10 condition! Pretty lightweight at 8.5 lbs. and a 34" scale. This one has a few mods that really make this bass extra, extra sweet and "technically makes it a one of a kind".

A professional route job was done to the body to install a split coil jazz pickup. There is also a super SNC 3-band Haz clone preamp installed which features 3 internal DIP switches to boost or cut certain frequencies to your taste as well as pick attack sensitivity.

It's an incredible, tweak able preamp IMHO. REALLY nice tones available from this setup. I personally prefer the blend knob running both pickups together, but each one singled out sound great too offering many different voicing/tones. The volume knob is push / pull to bypass the preamp completely in case of a low or dead battery.

The install modification is PERFECT! A work of art in its workmanship
honestly. It actually looks as if a machine did the modification work, but in reality a master luthier did all the work and wiring.
One would think that it actually came modified directly from the Spector factory in the Czech Republic. The work is that perfect!

The bridge pickup is a Nordstrand MM 4.4 with the neck pickup being a Nordstrand NJ4SE split coil jazz pickup, which means there's ABSOLUTELY NO HUM. You have 1 volume pot, 1 blend pot, 1 mid pot, and 1 stacked bass treble pot. All with center indents.

A Gotoh D-tuner is also installed and comes with the extra original tuner. I've got the action very low (~2/32" @ 12th fret) and intonation dang near spot on. Only blemish is a spot where your forearm rests that has some of the top coat rubbed off a bit, but it's unnoticeable unless you're looking for it. I've had this for over a few months now and I have no issues with it at all.

The tones you can achieve from this bass are simply amazing.
The tonality and quality is exceptional.

Hopefully I can find a good home for it so it's not just sitting around in its Spector gigbag which is also in mint to brand new condition.

*I really DON'T need to sell the Spector and can easily keep it with no problem at all. I really do like the way the bass sounds, looks and feels, but truth be told --and sad to admit— it would probably be sitting around way more than being played and possibly for a long while at that.

Kindly asking $1175 shipped ConUs Paypal :) I am also willing to drive a decent distance in the Tri-State area — Chicago, Wisconsin, Northwest Indiana, as far as Indianapolis 2 hours max -OR- meet half way if over 2 hours.

------ OR ------ OR ------ OR ------

An even trade for a unique bass with maple fingerboard same price and in likewise mint condition.:)

Thanks again for looking Talkbass! :)

Peace always! :)

Can you be more specific than "pretty light"? If you can provide a weight, it'd be appreciated.

I'm not a Spector expert, but from what I can find the nut is 1.64"? Want to be sure there aren't exceptions as I'm not a jazz nut width fan.

Also you mention a case and then later on that it comes with a gig bag. Does it come with both, or did I misunderstand?

Thank you much!

Previous owner here. This is a sweet bass. The owner before me had the neck pickup rout done. I did the SNC preamp install. Don't know why I sold it, might want it back...
