These are based on vintage specs. Overwound will have hotter output, much more low mid emphasis and less highs.

The overwound's have more midrange and low end content. Less highs. I have a Fralin J5 set with a 5% overwound neck and 15% overwound bridge. They sound great. With both pickups on, they don't really have that "Jazz bass scoop". LOTS of mids.
