I have recently changed jobs and cities - as part of our move, my wife has mandated that I sell off some babies.

This is Bluesman Vintage's take on the classic jazz bass in it's a beauty. I think John Scott and his team do the most tasteful relic jobs of any builder, and the bass is perfectly balanced with a great, fast neck. And the sound is pure jazz bass goodness. The original owner asked for the lightest aging possible, so this looks and feels like a 70's closet classic that was stored under dad's bed for decades. The alder body is painted in lake placid blue nitro with just a hint of realistic yellowing, and the "relic" consists mainly of very believable and tasteful checking with just a few spots where the blue nitro finish has only been buffed off slightly.

As with most BMV basses, the neck has been contoured by hand, with the slight shaving making this a breeze to play. The back of the neck feels as if it's been worn super smooth. The cream binding and inlays are super classy too. The bass has reverse-style vintage lollipop tuners.

The original owner requested that John NOT drill the body for the ashtray covers or the tug bar. He didn't want them, so why mar the instrument? These items could easily be installed should you desire them. There are the upgraded Flying Mojos and they're in the 70's position.

The bass came to me with a white sparkly pick guard, which I swapped out for the really nice tortoise shell you see in the pics. I'll see if I can dig up the original white one and include it if I can. The bass will ship in the very nice but non-original flight case pictured. I'm pricing my basses to sell. These El Dorados go for $2,349 new, plus the upgraded pickups. I am letting her go for $1,300 shipped. No trades and payment via Paypal is preferred. This is a great playing, great sounding jazz bass - you won't be disappointed.

Please PM me with questions, and understand that I'm living and working a few hours from where my bass is kept, so it may take me a while to answer any specifics.

Hi daveman, is this bass still available and could you tell me the nut width, hopefully it's the same as the old Fender Jazz Basses. And finally, would you ship to Germany?

Best - Heino
