Up for sale is this gorgeous bass: Yamaha BB-NE Nathan East Signature Model. I purchased this bass used and at the time of purchase, the bass had been modified to a fretless. The bass was re-fretted by a professional using a Plek machine.

Two major upgrades were made to the electronics. One is the pickups. They are replaced by the Aguilar DCB-G5 pickups. The other is that the preamp is changed to Mike Pope Flex Core. Note that I purchased those pickups and preamp new. I will also include the original electronics so you can put them back if you like.
Please note that I cannot guarantee whether the original electronics will operate (because I don't have ways to confirm). So please consider the original electronics as freebies. However, they were working at the time they were swapped, and have been stored in the bass's hard case since then.

Now, let’s move on to the details of the bass.
  • Body: Figured Maple + Alder
  • Neck: Maple (This particular bass actually has a beautiful flamed maple neck!!!)
  • Fingerboard: Ebony
  • Scale: 34-inch
  • Color: Amber Burst
The bass is estimated to have been built around the end of 2000. Although the bass still looks amazing, I do see 20 years of history as some dings and damages. The major ones are some dings on the front of the body, and scratch-like damage all around the back of the body, especially around the neck joint. Please see the photo as I tried my best to capture them.

In summary, here are the items that are included.
  • Yamaha BB-NE with upgraded pickups (Aguilar DCB) and preamp (Mike Pope Flex Core)
  • Original pickups and preamp
  • Yamaha hard case (keys missing)

$2200 shipped to CONUS only. PayPal preferred.

The original pickups and the preamp were working fine at the time they were replaced with the current ones (end of 2017). Since then, they were kept safely in the hard case of this bass. Thank you!

Nut Width & String Spacing At Bridge Please??
Thank you for your interest. Attached are the photos of the nut and the bridge with a ruler.
To my eyes, the nut width is around 45mm and the string spacing (string center to center) is 19 to 19.5mm.

When I was a kid, the first "best" bass player I had ever seen at the time played one of these. Sound was sublime, and I approached him after the gig. He taught me how to double pluck right there on stage with this bass after the gig for 20 minutes. I was in awe. This is about as professional a 5 sting as you can get. Yamaha quality all the way.

Since I recently got a new 5-string bass, I am more thinking about slimming my gear.
Until the end of 2020, I will further discount the price by $200! This will result in $1750 shipped to CONUS only.
This is a great price especially with the Aguilar pickups and Mike Pope FlexCore preamp upgrades.

I know you must be tired of jumping through hoops for us, but do you have any close up pictures of the fret board showing the professional refret?

Please find the pictures attached. Please let me note that the refretting was done by a highly skilled/experienced technician using the PLEK.
That said, I have found some scratches going horizontal to the fret, most evident around frets 12 and 13. I am not sure when these happened.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
