For sale is an Ashly BP41 bass preamplifier dating back to the 1980s. This is a garage relic, it was installed in a rack with front and rear covers and sat unused for a good two decades. It powered right up and appears to respond immaculately.
I am in the middle of a move and most of my gear has been packed and relocated, so I have no way to test the unit more thoroughly than to power it up and operate all the push buttons. On the other hand I have no reason to believe its functionality would have degraded while in storage.
There is no rack rash anywhere. The jack nuts and washers show a bit of patina but removing and soaking them in rust remover (Evapo-Rust, available at any auto parts store) for an hour will make quick work out of restoring them to a shiny brand new appearance.
This unit is a very flexible front end for your amplification chain, whether you go on into a power amp stage or a house console for live use or straight into recording equipment for tracking.
