For sale SKB Rotocase Flightcase [case ONLY—no bag]

Sold

Details

SKB Rotocase in great shape with OEM foam still installed. Comes with;
  • Mooridian soft gigbag No longer available, SOLD Separately.
  • TSA lock
  • GearTie safety strap (for TSA 'fool-proofing')
  • and additional foam strip, (removable neck support)

Works as it should, with Sharpie reminders for TSA to "latch both sides" and Fragile stickers. I installed an extra piece of padding to keep my bass from shifting inside the case. It's held in by double sided carpet tape and is removable. The gig bag is in good shape, the small headstock pocket's stitching has started to open but doesn't affect bag (see photo—TSA was a little heavy handed checking the pocket).

Agreed! My favorite part is the handle and wheeling it thru the subway and airport :thumbsup:

These are great- I’ve also logged numerous flights I’ve several years with mine and not a scratch on my basses. Someone is going to love this!

yeah the new Sharpie "metal" markers are great they won't rub off but will easily wipe off with some "goo-off". Best of both worlds! (I had my name and number sharpie'd on both halves as well, and cleaned off for the sale)

*If I were to do it agin I may write it on the 'flat-side' to be seen while laying down

You dig! gotta thank @JimmyM and the boys over at the Rotocase/gigbag thread for that tip!

the only time it came out of TSA 'untied' was entering Cuba in Havana.

I’ve got to add... the rubber tie is genius. Raises the likelihood of it being re tied when TSA is done.

I use zip ties and store fresh ones inside and about 70% of the time they reseal

Mostly me...actually ALL me :D

Jsxtal, that is exactly why I use these twist tie cables instead of zip ties. I can't recall them not tying it back. Might have happened once in about 12 years.

My roto case has made it back and forth to the Caribbean many times, never an issue. I have the “belt” closure version of the case, and I use Jimmy’s brilliant twist tie idea. Always re-sealed back up perfectly by TSA/Customs. AND the airlines never charge me an over-size fee for it. Its a godsend.
