Bass was sold to me as a 1994 66 reissue, but i believe it is a 1993 62 reissue based on the markings on the neck. Link to the thread where I purchased the bass is below, he has better pics than I do....
I removed the quarter pounders - they sounded good but the big magnet poles just looked wrong to me against an aged old bass. it has stock wind Lindy Fralins in it now and a trebble bleed circuit in the wiring harness. I thought about swapping the bridge, but it played so well that I just kept it. Bass has lots of checking and play wear, tons of mojo. Neck is very broken in and feels great.
I believe the bass was refinished at some point prior to me owning it. Whoever did that removed the labels for "made in Japan" or "Crafted in Japan". The previous owner had said it was labeled as MIJ in the neck pocket, but that is not the case (see my pics). I love the MIJ jazz basses, and this neck looks like all of the MIJ necks I have owned, and based upon the neck markings, I think it's legit. That said, there is no MIJ labeling on it, so if that bothers you and causes you to pass I understand.
I have 12 basses and I'm trying to get down to 6 or 7. I'm putting the money into my Harley.... This bass plays awesome and sounds killer with the Fralins.
