30 inch scale, 17mm string spacing ... can't measure nut right now but will when I locate measuring device ... yes, it is hugely rad! ... without question will keep if current object of desire sells

Short scale strings if strung through the bridge, medium scale if strung through the body. I have medium scale Dunlop flats on there right now and they really ring.

Man, I’ve never been able to latch on to 5 stringers due to the nut width....but maybe a short scale would bridge the gap. Beautiful bass!

It was a Birdsong Hy5. I always wanted one but they almost never come up. I'm still not entirely convinced it was the right choice, but something's gotta go!

While I haven't seen one lately, I'd contact Danny Stewart at Bass Direct Japan or some combination of those words. I bought it new from him, and he has a direct line to Atelier, among others.

A guy in Sweden is selling a shorty fiver right now that he custom made out of another bass, making it headless and short scale and stringing it E-C. I was tempted!

I bought a nearly new Atelier Z ZPO5 bass. But the pickups are ‘noisy’. Have you a advice for hum free J pickups for this bass?

should be ok if you crank both volume knobs ... it can take a while to learn how to tame that preamp!
