apologies for the question but this one is really tempting - is there a no-clipping-diodes setting on the diode selector?

No need to apologize! I found this online. It looks like the selection is led, led germanium, and open which i assume is no diodes.

Description from John in 2016: We found some extra Longsword V1 PCBs in storage and, rather than simply making more V1s, decided to do something new. We started with the V1 circuit and made the following changes: Added a charge pump for 18V of headroom from a standard 9V supply Added a clipping selector with an asymmetrical LED/Germanium mode and an open mode in addition to the symmetrical LED mode Added an additional midrange frequency position (for a total of 3 frequencies) Revoiced the Low/High shelving filters for a lower crossover point in the midrange and more high end presence Added a fully independent silicon transistor boost circuit with a Voice control, which allows the player to morph from a treble boost (great for tight high gain) to a full range boost (great for driving the circuit into a heavy fuzz)

Yeah I was going to say - this isn’t really a V1 - it has a bunch of the upgrades of later versions like the charge pump, the boost on an external dial etc. it’s way better than a V1 really

You are totally right. It is the v1 deluxe. I updated the title to reflect that too. I guess there was only 5? Fun pedal for sure.
