Almost mint closet queen! I bought this bass, played it for five minutes, and then stored it away in a climate-controlled environment. This beautiful RV4 was made with a roasted maple neck with some birdseye figuring, as you can see in the photos. Complete with original semi-hard case as shown, adjustment tools, and certificate of ownership.
The Japanese MetroLine was recently discontinued. Roger Sadowsky has moved production of his MetroLine and MetroExpress basses to Warwick Germany. According to Roger, the new Warwick MetroLine basses will start at $2990. The new MetroExpress basses from Warwick Germany will be manufactured in China, and they will be substantially cheaper.
In Roger's words (from his website) in reference to the Japanese MetroLine, "Our Metro Line represents all the basic models of Sadowsky NYC basses but are made by our staff at Sadowsky Tokyo. The Metro Line offers most of the same features as their NYC siblings including the same pickups, preamp and bridge. The quality of the Metro Line is as high as our NYC instruments." Also in Roger's words, "The Express is factory made... The MetroLine is Artisan made."
I thought that this bass was flawless until I took the pictures, when I found two almost imperceptible marks, a tiny micronick on the headstock, and then a tiny mark on the edge of the bass itself. Detecting these marks requires scrutiny.
No fretwear, great playability! This bass features Roger's amazing preamp built in: master volume, pickup blend, treble roll-off (VTC) with preamp bypass, bass boost and treble boost. Any bass sound that you want is in here! I just need to pay the bills.
