For sale Peavey T40 with mojo

Peavey T40 with OHSC. The phrase "built like a tank", while often used to market basses, has never been more applicable than in the case of this war machine: she's got the mass (11 lbs, 13 oz) and the battle scars to prove it.

The tone is unreal. A passive bass that can fit into any gigging or recording situation.

This particular bass has an interesting mod that I've never seen before. There's a little spring-loaded button that mutes the bass when you hold it down. For the adventurous, you can rapidly press it up and down to for a stuttering effect, kind of like wiggling a bad cable or a faulty input jack. Sort of like what the guitarist does at the beginning of the first Audioslave album. Weird, but it does not affect the tone at all and can easily be ignored if you're not into that.

Not sure how accurate the serial numbers are in dating these, but one site indicates that this was made in 1982. As you can see in the pics, the bass has plenty of wear and is missing a couple of knobs. Electronics work perfectly, neck is straight, all notes have plenty of sustain with no fret buzz. Original case is beat up and is missing some latches, but is solid and protects the bass well.
