Add my name to the list of the "I have too many compressors due to ScubaDuba" people. It's been so much fun . . . and so expensive . . . hanging out in the compressor thread. And this one was one of the best. I purchased it here used a while back, used it in the privacy of my own home because I had nowhere to play, then the virus hit and NOBODY had anywhere to play. So here it has sat, unused, in my . . . yes . . . pet-free, smoke-free, and fun-free home.

The Joe Meek FloorQ. I really had no idea what to expect when I snagged it. But Scuba spoke highly of it, so I figured it was worth a shot. And boy, was it! I have decided optical comps are my comp of choice for the added roundness and warmth that they bring to the table. And this one is no exception. It's probably the closest I have come to having studio-quality compression at my fingertips (on my budget, at least). I only decided to sell it because I was fortunate enough to snag a PDR at the last release. The PDR is also optical, and fits on both my large and small boards. The FloorQ does not. I can't afford to keep everything I like, because I can't stop buying things, so I have decided to send it off to a new, loving home.

Here is some information from the manufacturer:
"The floorQ is basically a Joemeek Optical Compressor in a pedal. 'We realized that a lot of guitarists and bass players were buying our studio gear - such as the twinQ - just to put their guitars through' says PMI President Alan Hyatt. 'They loved what the compressor did for their sound but it wasn't very practical from a live performance point of view. Actually the same circuit is in our small threeQ box but it still ain't a pedal, so we decided to give them one!' The floorQ also boasts a high impedance JFET input, Class-A preamplifier with an Input Level control, so even with the Compressor switched out, the pedal makes an excellent front end and level matcher for all types of guitar amps."

There is more information, of course, on their website, which I won't bore you with here. But if you'd like to bore yourself, or if you're a researcher and are into the details like I am, here you go:

Here's a fun fact: It can operate off of any voltage from 9-18v, AC or DC! That's just crazy. I did try it at both 9 and 18v DC, and noticed zero difference in tone or functionality. It's just for the sake of convenience, I suppose. Power it with whatever the heck you have on hand.

Here are some unreasonably large pics:

(That is not velcro on the bottom. It is rubber-ish padding).

The pedal is in excellent+ condition, and functions just as good as new (I can only presume, as I didn't have it when it was new, but there are zero functional issues. It sounds just as smooth as a baby's bottom, which . . . I think . . . is a good thing). I do not have the original box, but will include a manual which I printed off of the interwebs.

I'm asking $160 . . . Dropped to $150 . . . shipped via USPS Priority Mail flat rate box. Paypal only, pretty please. I will only ship within the continental US.

I'm not really interested in trades at the moment, unless you have a Broughton that I want (which isn't an SVPre, HPF/LPF, or Silver Deluxe). Thanks.

Hi Jacoby. I am looking for a compressor to accompany my trusty SMX Dual Comp and Joemeek is among my options. Would you have any problem sending it to the Canary Islands once you receive the payment? Could you check the shipping costs by post? Thank you.

Hi Tino. I apologize. I don't know how I missed your post, but I'm just now seeing this. I would prefer to ship only within the Continental US. If it doesn't sell after a while, I might revisit the idea. I will let you know. Thanks.

Don't make me put it on the 'Verb. I swear. I'll do it. I'd rather keep it in the TB family where I know it will be appreciated. Make me an offer you can't refuse.
