Third Time Around posting this, I want to diversify my stable a bit. This is my 3rd F Bass in the Stable.
This VF5 started it's life as a dual humbucker no pickguard from the F Bass Factory.
I sent this to the Nordstrand Shop for some more modifications (you'll truly never find another VF like this one) for the following upgrades:
-refretted with thinner fretwire
-neck slightly slimmed down
-neck pocket slightly deepened for less distance from body
-threaded inserts added under the multiple pickup routes for making multiple pickup swaps a breeze
-currently has a P Blade in the neck position*
-Aggie Big Split in Bridge (no longer being made)
*interesting note- this shape P Blade wasn't actually available before. If I remember it was a prototype before being made official to the public..
I honestly reach for my VF5 60s or my VF5 70s for a "Fender Sound" and for anything Modern I'll grab my Warwick.
Not looking for a cash sale, I'm wanting to hear out any trade plus/minus cash offers and would be willing add a good amount for something special. Below is all the previously posted info:
Basses I'd be partial to:
5ers, 34" scale or shorter, MTD 534 (or shorter scale), medium/short scale 5ers, Pedulla, no Fenders or Warwick. The only thing I would consider over 34" scale is maybe a fanned fret.
***Thanks for looking***
So this started it's life as an Ash Maple 70s spaced dual soapbar VF5 that left the factory like that.
Since then I've had modifications made by Mo and the Nordstrand Shop.
-added a Duncan Volume Pot that allows for screw terminal Solderless quick connect. This was helpful in landing with the current pickup combo.
-Added a Pickguard (comes with a dual soap pickguard as well as a P/Soap pickguard)
-Had the neck dual routed for a P Pickup Or the original Soapbar shape.
It's currently loaded with a Nordstrand NP5V in the Neck and a Humcancelling Aguilar Super Split (just their Humcancelling J in a Soapshell) this combo gives a vintage solo'd neck, a non-honky blended slap or finger tone, and a volume matched humfree bridge tone.
The Blocks and Binding definitely add to the base cost of the F Bass VF.
