This is one of those limited edition 2005 NAMM custom shop precision basses. 100 of them were made in the series. A couple of them have passed through TalkBass over the years.
2 Tone Nitro Relic Finish
Maple Neck
Soft V Profile
1 3/4'' Nut width
Vintage Frets
Select Alder Body
8.8lbs with the metal pickup/bridge covers.
The neck is comfy and it can magically handle any tuning that you could throw at it. I used it for years at C#-F#-B-E with standard 45-105 strings and then tune it to standard for a session and then back down and it would always play like it had been in that tuning for years. It's a monster, but super responsive. I've owned it for 14-ish years. I have too many P basses, I don't want to sell the vintage ones and this is the easiest to sell. I do have the thumb rest and COA. I'll post pictures of those. I just forgot to do it and I wanted to get this one up.
$2600 shipped in CONUS
You can read about Ian Allison's experience with his from the same series and how magical the neck is on it.
Here are a couple of band video clips that are ancient, but sound ok.
