****SOLD****
Motivated to move this, just acquired another shorty! So, please feel free to make reasonable offers.
Hey All,
Pretty much been playing short scales exclusively now so, time to sell off the basses not getting any play time. Not really looking for any trades at this time.... the only possible interest would be the Sterling short scale stingray in Light Blue, I already have the White one!
So, I bought a NS Design Wav radius a while back. When I received it, it had a slight hump around the 11th fret making it tough to set up the way I like, which is pretty low action with a pretty flat neck. So, I got in touch with NS. The couldn’t offer a replacement neck because the Wav series has been discontinued. But, they offered a CR4 neck for a reasonable price so, I took them up on the offer. IMO the CR neck is a much nicer neck in all regards. The construction is quite different, as it’s a graphite wood combo with ebony fret board.
The neck fit the pocket real nice but, did require a little re shaping of the heel, ended up fitting perfect after 10 minutes with a little sand paper. This is the same neck that is used on the high end model that sells for 3k.
The other thing I wasn’t crazy about was the stock electronics. So, I took everything out, still have the stock electronics they will be included along with the original neck! I installed a 3-way switch for the pickup so you can have front coil, both coils, rear coil. Quite a bit of difference in each position. I mainly used the front coil position. I also added a Noll 2 band preamp with a push pull for active/passive operation. Controls are V, passive Tone, Active Treble p/p,(for active passive operation) the EMG is passive. and Active Bass. I did disconnect the piezo bridge as I found it useless. But, you could always reconnect it.
Nice NS gig bag included. This is a great playing and sounding bass that balances as good as it gets. Also pretty light, probably 8lbs at most.
