Bobby, just a small correction: The Oliv's wrapping is steel ribbon. The Eudoxa has silver wrap ... perhaps that's why Eudoxa are so fragile.

That is a great set. I had Evah Weichs with Oliv G for years on a brighter sounding carved bass.

I like the punchy sound of gut strings- but I don’t love bowing on them. I put that set together to be able to do some arco, but still wanted to retain some of that gut sound on top. The Oliv D is just too thuddy. I find that the Evah Orch. D is a little less bright and “singy” than the Weich, but not a thud like the Oliv. The tension doesn’t seem to be a big mismatch either. On the other hand - I’ve never been fond of the Evah Orch E&A. I find them dull, stiff and tiring to play. I like the Weich E&A, and I’ve used those with plain gut uppers, but then I’m back to the bowing issue.
