Details

1997 Warwick Thumb 5 NT for sale.

I pains me to sell this. I waited for years to own one and it lives up to the hype. But the weight and neck length makes it hard for me to play for any extended amount of time. This bass is CLEAN...excellent shape.

Only trade interest is a 4 string Streamer (German made, must be in excellent shape).

$2500 shipped to Continental USA.

Here are the specs from Hans himself...

I had one just like it back around 2001. It sounded incredible by its self practicing but on stage with a live band it was very muddy and wouldn't cut through in the mix. Ended up selling it but wish I could have kept it just to look at it. Such a beautiful bass my friend.

It is beautiful...I absolutely agree! Maybe if I had a gig where I could sit down the whole time, I would keep it...lol.

Yeah, I remember neck dive being an issue. They updated the body design a bit and elongated the upper horn around 1999. It probably helped with neck dive but I've never cared for the way it looks with a longer horn. The earlier Thumb bodies just look better.

They are heavy awkward beasts, but nothing sounds like em. For me, it’s well worth it.

Good luck with the sale! I have a 97 BO. Warwick churned out some amazing instruments in this era.

Warwick GPS Streamer super Gitarre

I don't speak german or know how you'd figure out international shipping, but here's a streamer at a much lower cost than having to trade your thumb for it

Thanks for the link.

I had a GPS Streamer at one time and just didn't like it. I can't tell you exactly what it was...just didn't feel right.

If you see anything else, send it my way...

Man, I wish you wanted other trades. I have lots of stingrays and US jazz basses I would throw at you to try to acquire this.

Sorry man. I not a Fender fan...and I have a couple of Jazzmans that can get close to the Stingray sound.
