My old French double bass took a tumble a couple of years ago and during the restoration I had occasion to get a new scroll, tuners, and extension. For sale here are the old ones. My bass is an unnamed French Mirecourt instrument likely from around 1870 that reminds many people of a Bernardel. The scroll for sale here is likely not original to the bass but is a good example of a French scroll of the period. The tuners are likely original and work just fine. A few creaks depending on the time year, but they do the job and look the part. The extension for sale was made by Dennis Roy in Boston about 10 years ago and the stoppers are by Rob Anzellotti and it goes down to a low C. Once installed the extension is removable which I always found to be very useful. It works great, and the scroll already has a hole drilled to accommodate this extension. Seems like the ideal use case for all of this hardware would be a scroll graft onto a new or existing neck. I've loved using these things and would be very happy to see them in a good home where they are making music regularly. If you don't like the price I'm happy to consider offers.
Thanks!
