It really is like a work of art.. its all honest wear.. it has mojo history , and sounds Sweet! Better than any fender I've played.

Bathroom scale say 8.8lbs
40mm nut. Its a slim neck.

I forgot to mention it has a beautiful stripped ebony fingerboard, not rosewood.

I saw a Santana concert on TV the other day from the early 80's and the bass player using what looked to have been a very similar instrument. Of course the gentleman was a monster player but the bass tone was beautiful. A little too small for my hand but anyone interested should find this concert footage (like 2 hours worth) as the tone is incredible. GLWTS

I think Yamaha had their own production facilities by this time and didn't subcontract with Matsumoku.

Any clue what the original finish was on this bass?
