Trades: Only interested in an under 5lb MJT Precision Bass Body (60's Split Coil) with a Split Coil Pickup. Traditional '50s, '60s colors (not white). These are the pics of it when I bought it off TalkBass. I didn't assemble anything. I will go ahead and take new pics tomorrow.
Specs:
• Lightweight Mighty Mite Swamp Ash body. These bodies were some of the more period-correct P bodies you could get before MM stopped making them.
• Nitrocellulose Olympic White w/nitro clear coat in closet classic surface finish. Finish is about 4 years old and is just beginning to warm up.
• Fender Pure Vintage bridge; I left bridge installed because it didn't want to part from the finish and I didn't want to risk damaging finish; same for the neck plate
• Taipan Tone extra thick neck plate; I believe it's stainless steel and produces a very solid connection between neck and body. Also no longer available. I'm including a set of Fender neck screws in the deal to go with the neck plate.
• Dunlop strap buttons
• Some yellowing within pickguard footprint from the gold anodized Fender pickguard I was running on this bass.
With lightweight tuners, this body builds up into a resonant 7-1/4 to 7-1/2 lb. bass that will balance nicely. This is an ideal body for someone looking to build a closet classic relic, or who wants a closet classic body they can relic further.
