MIJ serial #T0158757 puts this in the 1994-1995 range. An absolute pleasure to play just bought for a project that is no longer active. Has a few dings which are pictured, one on front and one on back. Has fret markers on the neck. Will include set of nicely broken in Labella's 54. They are quite heavy strings so might not be your cup of tea but sound great. $750 will get this thing shipped anywhere in the lower 48. No trades. Let me know if you have any questions.

This is the model of fretless Fender should always have in production. I've had 3 of them (still have one). At no point in history did Fender make a fretless Jazz like this in the US. What a shame! Beautiful bass! GLWTS!!!

I agree that it's a shame that of all their current offerings, there isn't an unlined fretless Jazz to be had. But I imagine that the market for fretless Fenders is probably small and mostly folks who are there for the Bass of Doom vibe, and/or first timers to whom a lined board is an easier sell.

Anyway, I actually just bought one of these the other day and I love it. It's noticeably lighter than my other jazz basses, has decent MIJ craftsmanship, and the neck is a breeze. This is one of those instruments that's easy to pick up and hard to put down.

GLWTS!

I love the unlined fretboard. This is why I own a Tony Franklin Precision Fretless, which is a fantastic bass. I would really like a Jazz bass with the unlined board. Is it rosewood or ebony?
