This is really great sounding and cool 1980s bass. Super comfy to play. Has some wear - dings as pictured, some corrosion on tuners and bridge, but is in perfect functioning condition. Volume, volume, tone layout. Push pull pot on tome works as a coil tap for the humbuckers. It has one non-original

Tuner. These rarely turn up for sale as they are scarce.

Helping a stranger out with a sale ... I just played my BX-1 last night at a group rehearsal. It's perfect for rehearsals because it's so compact. I've had mine since '87 or so and it's a solid, well-built instrument that stays in tune like a champ. These are maple under the paint and very well built. My hardware corroded over time too, and I was able to return it to looking like new by using some steel wool and a quick lick of paint. If you're looking for a compact, solid, headless bass, I greatly prefer this to a Steinberger. GLWTS!

the original color was black. That body is orginal. Don't know why Yamaha hided that beautiful wood body underneath the paint layer.

Yes. Must say this particular bass really works for me in black though. Really glad you posted these pics though. Good to see that neck construction!

agreed. natural wood does not look good on this stylist bass.
