I bought this amp new about nine years ago from Chris Andrews, an independent amp builder in Westland, Michigan. It's the 5F6-A Fender Bassman circuit. Except for taking it a few times to a friend's for a jam, the amp has been used here at home. It doesn't have a lot of playing hours on it.
The controls are Volume, Volume Bright, Treble, Middle, Bass, Presence. There's a switch on the back of the case for selecting eight or four ohms. The amp case measures 17 1/8" wide, 8 3/4" high, 7 1/8" deep. I don't have an accurate scale for weighing the amp, but it weighs a little more than my Gallien-Krueger MBS 112 combo amp, which weighs 24 pounds, so I'll say it's about 26, 27 pounds. It'll come with a 10 foot power cord.
The first preamp tube is 6072A/12AY7EH, electro-harmonix, Made in Russia, 1003. The second and third preamp tubes are JJ ECC835. The power tubes are Groove Tubes GT6L6s (aka: KT66/5881). "Performance Matched" is printed and the number 8 and the letters BAB are hand written on the bases of the power tubes. The rectifier tube is 5AS4A, 322DN3, Tung-Sol, made in U.S.A.
I'll include three extra preamp tubes. A JAN12AT7WC, Philips ECG 8552, AFZ, 34167 USA. A Jackson 12AX7A/7025/ECC83. An EH 12AY7.
There's a simple mod that can be done on this amp. In Chris' words, "... whenever I build the 5F6-A or similar circuits, I always mount the bright cap right on the volume pot so that anyone can remove it by simply pulling off the bottom plate and snipping it out without having to unsolder anything or touch high voltages."
The amp is clean inside and out. No scratchy pots or any other problems. I played it through two Bag End S15-D cabinets and was always pleased with the sound. The amp will be shipped double boxed in double wall boxes. I took out the tubes and I'll mail them in a separate box. I labeled them so they can be put back into the sockets they came out of.
