Details

Hi all,

Selling my F Bass BN5. I bought it to "test out" an F Bass and have been blown away. I love the sound- just I prefer very narrow spacing so will have to order a custom one. It plays like butter and has the classic F Bass tone, but with lots of upgrades.

2013 F Bass BN5
21 frets
19mm spacing
9.7 lbs
Chestnut top
Ash body
Flame maple/wenge neck
Flame maple fingerboard
Black hardware
A-style bridge
Frets in good shape
Comes with F Bass "soft" case (the Protec style with hard edges that is sort of a hybrid and actually has some level of protection)

$4400 + shipping

Has some small pretty standard body wear like any bass that has been played, with one small ding on the side of the body near the strap pin, but nothing major.

Happy to answer any questions!

For what it's worth.....the bridge on your F Bass looks like a Hipshot A style bridge with width adjustable saddles.

In case you're not aware, the third screw adjustment on each saddle allows you to change the string spacing. Most of these I've seen will allow you to change from 18 mm to 19 mm and a hair more each way and anything in between. You might even be able to get 17.5.

Thought I would point this out. You may find you can get the spacing you want, and if you love the bass, it sure is a less expensive fix than selling it and doing a custom order.

Beautiful bass by the way.

Hope this is helpful. If you need help figuring out how to do the adjustments, drop me a PM and I'll answer.

Thanks for the reply! Yup, mentioned that it was an A-style bridge. I'm comfortable with making width adjustments, but it will never get down to the 16-16.5mm that I'd prefer, and even if you adjust down to 17.5mm, you're left with a silly amount of extra unnecessary neck width.

I knew going in that if I liked it, I would end up ordering something since I never like wide spacing- I just wanted to spend some quality time with an F Bass to make sure I could find a voice on one. Turns out it is a good foil to my main Fodera. I would order a 6 string, regardless. :)
