I wanted dirt and cab sims on the fly. And I was choosing between the (brand new) DG and this (used) one in the first place. At the time I thought it was a sound financial decision.

gotcha. So it wasn't that the genzler didn't sound good, just didn't have the features you were looking for?

if you don’t mind me asking.

What cab are you running this amp through?
What bass are you currently using?

I ran this head through my Aguilar SL 410x cab and db cabs.
Also Bergantino CN210, NV112T cabs and it sounded really great.
Sounded so good i just bought a brand new one.

GLWS and the Darkglass purchase.

Makes sense. The OD on this in great, but it doesn't have those DG features. I find these heada do grind better with ferrite drivers, or at least they do with mine.

Yeah it sounds excellent. The YouTube reviews will tell you too. Just not what I was looking for. Maybe if I still had my Fenders this would stay.

Thanks man. To be honest, 99% of the time I play with headphones on. With a baby in the house I can’t find time to play loud noises. So I invested in a really good open-back pair of headphone monitors.
I was going to use this for a project that still hasn’t come to fruition. If it doesn’t sell and my Darkglass GAS fades, I’ll keep this. Thanks for the cab suggestions too!

I don’t own fenders and probably never will being honest. I’m wondering how it will push my dingwalls with Darkglass pedals and Darkglass 212. The Darkglass amps on paper seem the obvious choice but many a player has other opinions and this amp was one of them so it’s on my radar.

It’s back on sale. Nate Navarro demo’d this with a Darkglass Microtubes X and it sounded killer. The best thing about the Magellan is the clarity and the transparency.
