I'm prefacing this ad by saying that this bass is a u-fix/project/luthier special.
I bought this locally through Facebook Marketplace in the summer and got hosed. I paid $400 with the OHSC and the owner did not disclose that the truss rod nut is rounded out. When I finally found this out, they ghosted me. I should have known better than to do a socially distanced handoff in a parking lot because of COVID, but I'm going to assume that the guy was just used to playing instruments with crappy setups and didn't even think to take off the truss rod cover and check it out.
No wrench that I have can get any traction in the truss rod nut, and the neck has fairly significant forward bow when under tension tuned to F#BEAD with D'addario super long strings (gauge for the low is something like .170).
Maybe if you string this instrument BEADG with lighter strings (a .125 B to start) the bow won't be so bad. To me, it's unplayable and I'm tired of it just sitting around my room.
This could be a great, cheap mod platform and instrument to experiment with really low tunings if you can get the truss rod nut off and replaced. The preamp is total trash, though. It just doesn't sound good, seems like the controls hardly offer any boost or cut. The pickups are meh. Luckily, they're a standard size so they're easy to replace.
It's in the upper 9 pounds, and I don't have a scale so don't ask for a better weight.
I'd like $200 for a local deal here in Los Angeles. I'll ship it on your dime, but that'll be pricey because it's heavy in the case. Or I can throw out the case, IDGAF.
