Hey man. Just curious: are you quite positive the nut width was 1.75"? I ask because I spec'd one of these with John Fox Bass, and apparently, the widest nut width Jimmy will do now is 1 11/16" (which is obviously *not* the period-correct C nut width of 1.75").

Yes, quite positive but I no longer have a way of verifying as the bass has sold.
I'd trust whatever Jimmy or John says, but measurement would be a final measurement with a tape measure. I don't use calipers.

Interesting. Man. Maybe I should have pleaded more to do the 1.75" nut width. Sigh. Thanks for the reply!

Well, maybe the nut width measurement I got is from the measuring tape grabbing the contour of the neck at the nut. A 1/16th isn't that noticeable in terms of feel as say the Jazz profile at 1.5". I bet whatever Jimmy builds for you, it's going to be awesome. :)
