Since I didn't get an OEM controller pedal (the "Mo' Control") with my SWR Mo' Bass head when I bought it, I picked up this DIY version on Evilbay. Appearance-wise it looks a bit like something Napolean Dynamite would have come up with if he was an amp designer, but it works fine - exactly the same as the Mo' Control but without the LED's, expression pedal and preset buttons (FYI you can still connect an expression pedal to the amp separately if you would like to make use of the functions one would provide, like controlling the filter sweep on the synth effect). This unit doesn't require batteries or power, which is a plus.
I have since been gifted an original Mo' Control, so I no longer have a need for this one. This is a very affordable alternative to the Mo' Control, as they are fetching pretty high prices these days, if you can even find one.
Included is the male-to-female DB9 cable that connects the controller to the Mo' Bass.
I paid around $140 for it, but will let it go for $75 shipped within the continental US. PayPal is ok.
