This is a truly special bass and will probably regret selling this. I have a new custom bass that will be delivered to me soon and need to liquidate to help offset the costs. Otherwise…I would probably never sell this bass.
It weighs a few ounces over 9 pounds and balances perfectly. This will come with a good quality gig bag and packed well. $1275 plus ½ of the shipping costs. Figure another $35-40 for your share.
It is the "Handmade" series, their very top- tier model, which sells for around $2500. They are hand made by Japan's top luthiers. (Think Custom Shop) A handmade Japan made bass at $1275 is a steal!! Black and gold hardware, bridge and lightweight tuners
Then I have added the Audere 4 band preamp. (sorry, I don't have the original plate and controls since it was MANY, MANY years ago). Pro JZ3 VB 4B Black mounted on a custom black gloss control plate. The preamp is my favorite and I have used John East, Noll, Aguilar and Sadowsky in other bass guitar. In the detent position it is truly neutral and out of the circuit. The 3 position switch are loading capacitors exclusive to Audere. The center switch position is neutral, the other 2 positions can change the character to a "series-wired" sound or a edgier sound. The 4 band eq contols bass/treble-concentric, low mid/high mid concentric, volume and balance/concentric control.
"The Z-Mode switch changes how the pickups electrically respond to string vibrations. The defaults are 1) Low Z - Deeper sound, 2) Mid Z - Passive sound, 3) High Z - Brighter sound applied to both pickups. Each Z-Mode switch position can be independently programmed into 1 of 9 Z-Mode configurations for more versatility."
The bass is in MINT condition and could be sold as a brand new bass, but I have owned it for about 7-8 years. There is not one scratch or mark on the beautiful see-through white pearl finish. It has a subtle sparkle to the finish when reflected at certain angles. It reminds me of the Mary Kay type of finish that Fender offered way-back when. It can be strung through the body as well as top loaded.
