Picture 1 looks fine @ 3rd fret. Photo 8 looks like a lighting issue.

Here's another shot. I'm not a professional photographer but what I'm trying to show is that there are no indentations in the frets from fret wear. The bass has had rounds on it, yet the frets are like new.
