- Left-Handed?
- Yes
For sale is one gorgeous, easy-playing, and ballsy sounding EBMM Stingray 5, left handed. This is a 2011 model with the alnico pickup and series/series+filter/parallel wiring. It also has white inlays on the maple board, which I think make it look super classy. Never seen another MusicMan with white dots on maple, so that’s cool too.
This bass is set up with low action and plays FAST, especially if you’re a fan of that barely finished feel, which I am. The B string is incredible- tight and defined and really at home with the other four strings. Definitely the best 34” B that I’ve ever played.
This bass is only 9.5 pounds, and even then that reading seems heavier than it feels. It’s crazy comfortable with the body contours and feels great on even my narrow and flimsy straps.
This is a 10 year old instrument, so it does show some cosmetic wear. There is a scratch on the front forearm contour that is visible in some light (but often isn’t). I’ve attached a picture of it below, posed to be as obvious as possible. There is also a small indent on the back of the neck, barely more than a scratch but still something you’d feel very slightly. There are other tiny little scratches on the pickguard but they’re minimal- it’s clearly been very clean and well-kept for most of its life.
So why am I selling? I miss having a neck pickup, and as much as I adore everything else about this bass, I just can’t bring myself to chop it up and add one. I also moved recently and am racked by the guilt of how many wonderful instruments I own and ignore. Thinning the herd seems to be the responsible choice.
$1650 for local pickup, add another $100 for shipping in the CONUS. I will not ship internationally.
Trades? Try me, but at this point I’d only be interested in other lefty instruments or potentially a nice tube amp.
