For sale Pfretchner 7/8 carved 5 string bass REDUCED TO $1600

Large 1970s carved pfretchner 5 string conversion in the 1990s. Conversion was done by J. Fred Couch bass luthier before I owned it. It’s a big bass. Has some repairs including a repaired sound post crack in the back. That repair was done by Bob Ross in Denver. I stuck a cleat on the back for extra support. The bass has been played a lot and I’ve owned it 10 years while being in graduate school and tons of gigs. Couple cracks in upper bout. The sound is dark and sweet. It’s not an overly loud bass with spirocores and a high C and it amplifies very well with a Realist or full circle. Price is somewhat negotiable. Also put in a picture of me playing it with Chris Potter. Maybe that makes it more valuable. Columbia South Carolina. $1600
