Well I'm putting my feelers out on this one. Im not too keen on selling this but I rarely use this out live and it sits sadly in its bag. Guessing around 1990 Steinberger Q4 first version. USA Stamped. Great shape. Plays and sounds amazing. Everything works and functions as it should. EMG 9V active. Vol-P/U Selector-Tone. This nails all those snotty 80s and 90s tones. I legit like this basses tone and neck more than my last Kubicki Factor. This was a custom build for someone special. In fact it's stamped Denise's Special 013. Has Black inlay dots. A wild metallic finish on the back of the neck. Has typical surface scratches and a few minor dings. Hard to see or tell on black. Could use a nice buffing out. Minor pitting on bridge. A little scratchy rolling on and off volume knob-others are clean. Was missing some rear cover screws and had to add, all I had was fender screws. Has original Steinberger gig bag. Comes w extra set of strings.
If this does not sell my heart will not be broken. I feel this is a collectors item.
I really would like to know/find out who Denise is. ;-)
Oh yes and it's 8.8lbs
*Shipping includes Conus*

I own one of these Q4's and have never seen a custom neck like that. (I also have the same FADP in the background as well :)) With that neck, this thing is special indeed. IMHO, the sound is amazing and in my experience has the best intonation of any bass I've ever played. That is a great price for a unique collectable Steinberger. GLWTS.

I've never seen a silver steinberger neck either, interesting.
No serial # on the neck?
Or did you edit that out?

Does the headstock string clamp area look like a normal Steinberger?

If it counts for anything I dated a Denise for many years, long, long ago, but she never played bass. Hahaha

No serial number on neck. Just the stamped sides as pictured. No editing. Stringholder looks like normal. I believe it to be a custom build for Nicole...Lucky 013.. ;-)

Price drop..
And you bet it gets all those 80s and 90s tones,..and then some!
I shall keep this one if the pricing doesn't motivate. I emailed Steinberger but no reply as of yet. Kinda excited to think it may have been his wife's bass!
Certainly would make sense.
