Up for sale, a 1979 Rickenbacker 4001 in very good condition,
and perfect working order. This vintage bass features a limited run original
custom Autumnglo gloss finish and neck through body construction, with a solid
piece of maple runs from headstock to the bridge.
The gloss finish exhibits buckle rash on the back of the body, with some additional small dings on the body and neck as shown. Some finish is worn near binding on upper half of body as pictured as well.
Truly a player’s bass, this iconic Rickenbacker model has the classic thump and growl with endless sustain of many fame artists. Currently strung with fresh 45-100 D’Addario Chromes (flatwound) strings.
Recently, taken to luthier for professional setup, sporting comfortable low action and solid intonation. Neck has a vintage C-shape profile and dual truss rod design. 33 1/4" scale is Rickenbacker's traditional long scale, and the gloss-finished slab rosewood fretboard features original frets and pearl triangle inlays.
This bass includes the two original Hi-Gain single coil pickups delivering strong fundamental and midrange grunt.
Vintage fret wire shows slight wear around 5-7 frets, which I had tried to show in photos. The nut width measures a full 1 5/8” or 1.625 inches. The original Rickenbacker logo/truss rod cover is present, along with the stock open gear tuning machines.
All of the electronics work cleanly and bass has original CTS pots that dating back to 1978
Hardshell case will be included with sale.
