Up for sale is my USA made Peavey G V. cosmetically, It is in excellent condition. Weight on bathroom scale is 9lbs. It has a beautiful Sunburst finish. It features a three band Mike Pope Flexcore preamp with passive tone control. The bass absolutely kills in the mix. There are a lot of tone u can get. You don’t have to worry about the neck shifting on you because of the climate change, the Graghite neck takes care of that. As for trades, I’ll on consider a Made in Korea Skyline lakland 55 02 (Bartolini)

The neck on this G V is graphite. The earlier models were Modulas the newer ones were Moses graphite necks. The first year they used modulus graphite. You can tell by looking at the woven graphite on the headstock and on the back of the neck. Look at the pictures you might be able to see.

B-Quad necks were by Modulus, the G series necks were by Bell & Carlson (a gunstock company). The G-series necks have a wooden core wrapped in carbon fiber.

I’ve owned a couple of these basses. I noticed that one one had solid black look graphite neck and the other has braided fiber look as u can see in the picture. Ur saying the same company made two different necks?

There has been a lot of misinformation about the necks. AS one stated above, the necks are wood with an outer covering of graphite. Some had the obvious weave of the cloth showing and others were pretty much black. The G and GV necks were indeed made by Bell and Carlson which is a gun stock company.

I own the twin to this bass. Mine is stock except for the control knobs. It is a killer bass and mine is a keeper.

As you can see, the neck on my bass looks solid black at first glance but close inspection shows that the weave is visible. The marriage of the Cirrus electronics and this bass design was fantastic.

I have a GV bass and a spare G bass neck. The necks are walnut (similar to Cirrus bolt) and finely wrapped in carbon fiber by Bell & Carlson -- a gun stock manufacturer.

Only the B-Quad featured a licensed Modulus neck.

Braided is the key

just a different mould

modulus had the “1000 dancing women”. Kld

Do yourself a favour

take off a tuner and you’ll see wood inside

Modular spaces are shaped in a mould for the hollow inside while GV graphite
Sandwiched wood design is solid


Not sure if it really as much stability the skin is hard and dense
So probably does make a difference but the bond between the two I find as a lot of warmth and a lot of snap and clarity

What a looker and a SWEET bass !!!
I don't know if it went overlooked by everyone, but the OP said it has a Mike Pope Flexcore pre in it. Those are $300 alone and kill it ! This bass is as boutique as anything out there

I own a lot of basses from Ken smith, Tobias music man, Warwick. This bass literally holds her own against all of them.. I have a lot of experience with the pope preamp in different bases. Its a perfect match with this bass.
