Third owner of this great bass, but it's been sitting in its box not getting played. I'm just not a 5 string player and been more into guitars lately, so moving this one on.
Bought from a fellow TB'er who bought it from another TB'er who bought it from Sweetwater and had it PLEK'd. If you're interested in the history, just search for Stiletto Session 5 in this forum.
Everything is in great shape. I even took it to get it priced for a potential trade and the first comment was, "have this even been played?". Still has inspection stickers on it and all the original parts. Comes with new feeling Elixir strings with maybe 2 hours of play time on them.
This bass ticked all the boxes for me as a hesitant 5 string peruser. 35" scale, lightweight 8.8 lbs, active EQ, string spacing around 17, so not a big leap for me.
The whole thing is put together so well, it's crazy. I pull it out every few months and am always amazed that the dang thing is still 100% in tune! It must be the rock hard maple and 6 bolt construction. Plays great, just like you'd expect from an instrument that's been PLEK'd and the fret work is top-notch and smooth.
Wish I could justify keeping it, but the closets are full. Only trades I'd be interested in are a short-scale bass like the Stingray SS ornice guitar pedals like the Browne Protein, King of Tone, others? (just bought a Protein, so maybe later.)
