I haven't weighed this cab myself, I got that spec online. But I can confirm it weighs about as much as a paper clip.

Can't compare it to the trick fish myself, I've never played any other 2x8. But I will say this cab sounds impossibly large. It reminds my of a Euphonic Audio NL210 I had in that it brings more volume that I can imagine. But that EA got sorta wonky when really pushed. This cab I never really pushed too hard. My experience is it's very smooth and even from highs to lows.

Put it this way: I liked this cab so much and was so impressed I bought a Revsound 210 because I think it'll be all the volume I could want to play with a band.

Correct. I'm not sure he ever made these with tweeters. I personally don't think it needs it, but then again I play flats so what do I know! Based on reviews in the Revsound club here on TB, many agree the cabs delivers nice highs without a tweeter.

I recently got a RS-28V (the vertical version) and my style is aggressive with a lot of highs dialed in. I thought it might not sound "sparkly enough" but I realized after playing it for a few weeks these things do not really need a tweeter.

I hit mine with 300 watts, lots of lows (50 Hz) dialed in, lots of highs, and the low and high boost buttons engaged on my head.

Even at 3/4 volume I could not get the thing to even begin to fart out. VERY balanced sound across the entire spectrum.

For about what one would pay for a used Trace 2 x 8" this thing is a great deal.

I was never a flatwounds guy, when I started playing and got my first good bass (a Rickenbacker 4001) I ripped off the flats and put on a set of Rotosounds when I got home before I even played it LOL.

Funny thing a while back I put flats on my Rick 4003, thinking of getting the McCartney tone from when he started using a Ric on the Beatles albums.

Instead what I wound up with was the "Deep Purple Machine Head" tone. (turns out a big part of the McCartney Ric sound was the string mute and I had replaced the bridge with a Hipshot which has no string mute).

For reference for the guy who asked, with the RevSound I have been playing a Squier Classic P-Bass but that bass also has a Hipshot bridge (I hate stock Fender pot metal bridges) and a Duncan Quarter pounder. LOTS of output with that bass and a lot of highs for a P-bass. I actually liked the tone with the tone control dialed back about 10% better going through the RS-28V.

Sure it doesn't have the spitty highs a cab with a horn has but the upper parts of the frequency response actually sound pretty damn good. Digging in hard with a lot of highs, the cab has just the kinda high end clank I love to hear.

I play a p bass with Lollar pickups and TI flats through a Mesa Subway 800. Sometimes with a mute. Love the way the sound comes out of this cab! Hopefully I like my RS210 just as much (but louder).
