Here's your chance to own an Alembic at an affordable price!
This is a 1989 Alembic Elan with Europa electronics and a gorgeous quilt maple top.
The Europa electronics include volume, pan, filter, Q switch, bass boost/cut switch, treble boost/cut switch. The quick tone switches are bass and treble and are not individual switches for the pickups. Each switch provides 6db boost, flat, and 6db cut. This control array makes the bass incredibly versatile. The pickups are Alembic AXY humbuckers.
The body is made of a maple, with a quilted maple top. The neck is maple with purpleheart laminates. The fingerboard is ebony. Scale length is 34". String spacing is pretty narrow, as is typical for early 5er's. I measure it at 16mm. Weight is a bit under 10.4 lbs (actually almost on the light side for an Alembic!)
The bass is in excellent condition. The only significant dings that I can find are 4 or 5 small dents in the clearcoat (not the wood itself), the biggest of which is about 4mm or so. They are extremely hard to photograph. They are located between the G string and the edge of the body above the controls in this photo:
Other than those dings, the bass is in near-mint condition. Ships with the original hardshell case.
Price is $3200 via PayPal, including shipping to CONUS. I'm willing to ship internationally, but you will be responsible for all additional costs including shipping, VAT, import duties, etc.
No trades, thanks.
