Nicely optioned “parts bass” The body is from Roger Sadowsky, here is the description from the listing I bought it from.

Dinky J-Style body
Chambered body for increased resonance and light weight.
Extra light at 3.00 pounds.
Bookmatched Quilt maple top on 2 pc. centerseam swamp ash body.
Rear Control cavity. Accepts any aftermarket Fender style 4 string J-bass neck.

I put 6 coats of tru-oil on and installed the Lowe Custom 32” neck. I had a Luthier shim and adapt the pocket slightly for the new neck (some sacrifice to the finish see photo). I also had him modify the headstock shape to mimic a shape I prefer.

The finished bass is very light at 6.6 lbs weighed on a fishing scale.

It has a reproduction hipshot “A” style bridge, hipshot elephant ear tuners.

The pickups are Fender Noiseless in the Neck and Kent Armstrong in the Bridge

Pre amp is Audere

Knob set up is stacked vol/balance. Tone. Stacked hi/lo mids with detent. Stacked bass with detent

Can ship in a lightly used MONO vertigo for additional $75

does the bass play in tune up and down the neck ?

So this was a very poorly worded question on my part. What I was really meaning was can the bass be intonated. After reading up on the Lowe 32" scale conversion neck, I see that intonation would not be a problem.

I think this is a really cool bass and if I were not trying to downsize my 4 string herd would probably give it shot. Seems like a great value. Sadowsky, Lowe, Audere, Hipshot - what's not too like.

Good luck with the sale and thanks for turning me onto Lowe Custom.

You can check my link to Lowe a couple of posts down if you are interesting in their approach to scale conversion. Pretty cool stuff IMO

In my humble opinion, not having perfect pitch, when I play it back with a tuner in front of me, I cannot identify any "dead notes" Any deviation from pitch could be fixed by tweaking intonation and saddle height. I think it sounds great! (Please excuse the 60hz cycle hum, I am not a sophisticated electronic music wiz)

The video picture is just an icon not the bass being played. SoundCloud puts whatever profile picture you use on their site. I have replaced my profile picture with the bass for sale.

i know, right? i'd love to have this bass, but would have to trade into it and o.p. is looking to sell outright. one that got away for sure.
