My ad stands as correct. It is 100% original OEM with certificate from Germany. No I did not replace the fingerboard. You do not have the same bass. Read up on them and let me know how it goes. Now are you in the market to buy it or what?
FYI- The bass pictured with the fretboard inlay was made during the original run in 1990, this one being #23. I happen to own #14 which I bought new during that year. The bass for sale is a reissue made in the early 2000's. These did not have the fretboard inlay.
Thanks stingray. Education is a wonderful thing. You knew what you bought back then and I am certain you know something about how to USE it. I am about function first and care most about how something sounds more than anything. As I stated, I knew not to separate the original parts (for collector value) when I improved this bass. At the same time, if I can make it sound better, I do...and did. Congrats on your 1-owner 1990 JB. A nice story.
Can someone start a discussion/education thread somewhere else? If anyone interested in this bass needs specific information, feel free to use the PM link and I will respond. This is a classified ad not a forum discussion. Thanks.
