For sale Vintage Gotoh bridge

That's an interesting bridge. Do you raise and lower that inner circular part of the saddle with the single set screw? I'm just curious how it raises and lower the entire circular saddle instead of cocking it to one side. Saddles often have 2 set screws. Really cool design.

that’s correct, the one screw adjusts the height of the round saddle. It moves smoothly and evenly and the saddles don’t come out from the top so I believe there’s a groove or guide of some sort inside. The screws through the bottom hold the saddles in a track but I haven’t tried taking one out to see how it’s designed

Simply one of the best designs, both functionally and cosmetically. I have one on my later Fern APB5...also seen them installed on 10k Ken Lawrence basses. The column saddle post rides up 'n down in a corresponding hollow form via the visible single screw...no binding, tilting, etc. Looks great as the saddle assemblies sit on a textured-finish base plate. Only downside is there's no variable spacing so be extra careful with your pre-install layout. Sidenote: the predecessor was a convoluted Gotoh faux roller design...not for the faint-of-heart. This is a big improvement!

Reminds me of a better take on the design of some of the Ibanez bridges in the 80s, where one screw basically opened a hinged saddle, making the height taller. Seems neat!
