Hey everyone. This listing is for my Sukop SC. This one features an out of this world flame myrtle top over what I believe are alder wings. The neck has flame maple edges with a maple center strip and purple heart stringers. The fretboard is an exquisite piece of birdseye maple with block inlays. Steve really knows how to choose the woods man. This bass is beautiful.

A previous owner switched out the stock Barts for EMG's, and did a great job with the conversion, which is very clean. There was a repair made to the headstock as well. This seems like a pretty common occurrence with this particular headstock design. There are some typical signs of wear that you would expect on a used bass: minor finish dings and light scratches here and there, but nothing particularly remarkable in my opinion. Overall I would describe this as great condition, and everything works properly. I just recently sent this bass over to Steve himself for a setup and checkup. He dialed it in and even polished up the brass bridge saddles.

This one is a 35 inch scale, and weighs in at 8 pounds 13 ounces. This bass is rare and awesome. The contoured body is super comfortable, it plays great and sounds fantastic. I understand that single cuts and coffee table woods aren't for everybody, but I think this bass would make a fan of anyone.

$3999 shipped. I always consider trade offers if you want to make one. I can go plus/minus cash as required. Please PM me if you have something in mind. Thanks!

Sukops are great basses, and this is one of the nicest ones that I seen. I have a five string fretless that I will never part with. GLWTS!

I bought the other Sukop SC5 that was listed with different specs (34”, RW fb). I had always wanted one after playing them at Atlanta Bass Gallery and Rudy’s NYC. These are really great basses. Steve Sukop is a great luthier and highly underrated. Check out Andres Rotmistrovsky, he plays one…and Oteil Burbridge has one as well. The basses have a curved top that matches the radius of the fingerboard and the back is also concave to match the curve of the top. It’s a very well thought-out design. Mine has a very thin neck, from front to back…perhaps one of my main dislikes as my other basses have a thicker neck—but I’ve actually gotten used to it and it’s starting to feel more natural. The action can go very low. These are great basses. GLWTS

Bump for a great playing and sounding bass. I owned this one briefly, always a head turner

These are some of the best looking basses out there IMO but I have to wonder what the builder was thinking when designing that headstock. Regardless this is a first class looking instrument.
