Vintage Peavey Made in U.S.A. Neck-through Goodness!
I purchased this bass on a whim from the original owner. He was moving out of state, and unfortunately no longer plays bass. This guitar was purchased in the mid 90's and gigged regularly for a few years before being stored in a closet for around a decade. It has a few very small dings here and there in the usual places (lower part of the body, back, and tip of the headstock), but overall is in great condition. I put new D'addario strings on and gave it a set-up with intonation. It plays nice and low with minimal buzz. The preamp functions just like you would expect, but if you give too much gain it will start clipping. It's a very powerful preamp. Very nice and clean example of Peavey's PRIME manufacturing era. Original Hard Shell Case included!
This is the Second gen model with VFL pickups, like the Cirrus, and a mid sweep in the preamp. The mid sweep makes it a tone animal, as you can really hone your sound with it.
I have a Cirrus bass from the same era, and recently obtained an MTD five string, so the TL-5 needs to find a new home, although I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. Please let me know if you have any questions and I will be happy to answer.
