Semi transparent black stain over 3A Quilted Maple finished in glass clear coat.
Ebony Neck (with Moon Phase inlay stickers - easily removable)
Blue LED Side markers

Rogue's are quite a bit lighter than other Alembic basses because they are more sculpted bodies with less wood than a standard omega bodied bass. This one is maple-mahogany body, so it’s not a feather weight. With the longer upper horn, the balance is excellent.

Compared to my recent series 2 basses… this one is way lighter. Not a technical term… but notable difference.

Ruthenium is a slightly darker shade than nickel, so yours would be black chrome. And those are LOW pass filters. What's with the inlays?

The inlays are actually just inlay stickers. Easily removed. The bass is otherwise very black. Thanks for the pointers on the filters. I will update the post.

Would love to hear a vote on the “inlay stickers”… I thought they were kind of a cool enhancement to an otherwise all black… stealthy bass. If most TB’ers think they cheapen the look of a rather expensive custom Alembic, I can pull them, hit the neck with a little Goo Gone, and re-oil it for like new blackness. Any feedback?

This is right in line with what is shown on the Alembic website for the Rogue model five-string basses, which is: "about 11 pounds." The Rogue is unusually well balanced and has excellent ergonomics, which is likely why it seems so light, particularly relative to the other two Alembics you've shown. I doubt even the most sensitive would believe this bass weighs 11 pounds if they didn't know before they strapped it on.

I'd ditch the stickers in a heartbeat, but that's just me.

Thanks for the feedback! Totally agree with your assessment of the Rogue. It feels solid and is well balanced due to that long top horn. Very playable in the upper parts of the neck with the generous cutouts too.

This one is pretty unique for Alembic with the upgrade 3A Quilted Maple and the black stain and gloss clear over the body and headstock. The neck is satin for better grip. it also has an ebony center strip in the neck wood sandwich who adds more low end tone. That is typically seen on Series Alembics which are far more costly. This would run prob $15K or more to order new.

Totally agree! Each one is a work of art. I took this one as a trade for another bass, and it’s a unique one with the colors and blue LED’s. I think I took it to 1 gig and 1 rehearsal… rest of time it’s part of the art on my wall of basses.

Wonder if I pull the strings, remove the "Moon Phase Inlay" stickers, and reset... if that will drive people to see a custom Alembic for 1/3 of the cost of a new one?

Perhaps....

While it's a good deal, it's still a lot of money. Times are uncertain.

Having said that, if it was a four string and was under 10 pounds I'd be scheming and figuring out how to buy it.

Beautiful bass - hope you can find it a new home!
