They use the same shell and from what I understand, the sensing field is the same as it uses bars. That said, one has four buttons on the bottom while the other has five.

I had these installed in a non-Dingwall bass and flipped their positions for kicks, and didn't notice a change in string to string balance. Tone yes, balance no.
