Details

For Sale in Good to Very Good Condition is an all original 2002 Candy Apple Red MIM Fender Precision Special.

It has a maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard. The neck is that of a Jazz , 1.5” nut width and plays fast and with ease.

Both pickups work perfectly and quietly as do the electronics (all passive).
It has only been used in a safe , smokeless studio environment.

Weight is exactly 9.0 lbs.

As shown in the attached photos, this bass has only 2 places of damage: 1) a small chip of missing paint on the edge of the body, elbow the controls, and 2) a small nick on the back of the headstock. See photos for more.

Based on my own research, this particular make and color is rare to find. The last time one of these exact basses was sold on TB was 2017.

I live in the Cincinnati Ohio area. If you are within driving distance, you are welcome to send me a PM and schedule an appointment to checkout this bass and skip shipping charges.

For shipping, I will pack this in a gig bag, and with much care. For speed and safety’s sake, I prefer to ship UPS.
All shipping charges will be the responsibility of the buyer, depending on what the final sale amount is determined.

I have this bass with a maple fretboard. It snuck up ahead of my US P and 4 Laklands as my main workhorse. This passive version just kicked butt, in my hands the neck feels like my 62 CIJ reissue J, more substantive than the Lakland DJ.

I have this bass in the white/gold color combo and I love it. The thin jazz neck is amazing. These are not easy to find in the passive version. Someone's going to get a great deal. GLWTS!

Oh man! I was just in the market for an inexpensive (but good) P bass for the last month or so, and was noticing a distinct lack of options in MIM content. I saw tons of MIA, MIJ almost all over $1000, and tons of newer Squier models for not much off of retail, but very little in this range.

Now that I finally pulled the trigger on a good deal on a MIM player series, OF COURSE there are tons of options emerging both nationally and locally. This looks to be about the best one I've seen, and would have matched my J bass from the same era (which has a killer neck btw). I got a P but was sort of hoping for a PJ! I should learn to have more patience!

GLWTS anyway. At least I found a great burst model with nicely matching woodgrain, but red would have actually been my second choice. It looks awesome with that gold guard! Is that stock or did you add it?
